Executive Manager Planning and Infrastructure

An exciting Executive Management opportunity at Newcastle Airport. Deliver a development strategy for one of Newcastle's biggest infrastructure icons!

The Organisation

Newcastle Airport Pty Limited (NAPL) is Australia's leading regional Airport. With a team of approximately 50 employees working directly for the Airport and a substantial sub-contracted workforce, NAPL is an organisation dedicated to workplace diversity and inclusion and are passionate believers in the importance in offering avenues of personal and professional growth and development.

Given its enormous economic importance to the region, NAPL has developed a Master Plan that sets out a 60-year vision including a 20-year blueprint for growth. The vision is for Newcastle Airport to open up new regional and national direct routes and - of great importance to residents and businesses alike - become the state's second international airport.

Further to this, the Airport has recently purchased a parcel of land adjacent to the precinct where a proposed world-class aerospace hub will be developed, offering highly desirable aerospace, education and advanced manufacturing spaces.

The Opportunity

The position of Executive Manager Planning & Infrastructure is integral to this vision and is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of NAPL's facilities management and infrastructure development in line with the Master Plan.

This includes developing and coordinating the implementation of strategic plans for the development and expansion of NAPL, including terminal, runways and car parking facilities. Also included in the twenty year plan is the creation of a nationally significant defence and aerospace hub. The Executive Manager Planning & Infrastructure will lead the management, coordination and delivery of these high value and complex capital works projects.

Operationally, the Executive Manager Planning & Infrastructure will oversee Facilities Maintenance, and develop and implement the Information & Systems Technology CAPEX strategies and vision, as well as provide advice and guidance on associated procurement activities.

You will need to be a passionate and strategic thinker with high level commercial and political acumen. You will provide advice to the CEO and Board of Directors on strategic project management issues, including innovative and sustainable building practices and operational strategies to enhance infrastructure and minimise ongoing capital maintenance investment requirements.

Ideally you are a proven negotiator, have high attention to detail, and a demonstrable ability to deliver large complex infrastructure projects and influence and motivate not only your team, but other key stakeholders.

An attractive salary package will be negotiated to secure an ambitious and energetic leader who is passionate about significantly contributing to the Region's economic growth.

This is an Executive appointment responsible for a large and diverse portfolio. You will possess tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, or other engineering discipline coupled with experience in commercial property development. Knowledge of Local Government process will be highly regarded.

Applications, including cover letter and resume, will be accepted via the Apply function of this website. Once your application has been received, you will be emailed an information pack with more detail about this opportunity. For any other queries, please call Sarah Skillen on 0428 606 602.
